Dental Practice
Philosophy-Preventive Care
Our philosophy is to encourage our patients to partake in preventive
dental care. Dental disease is ever-present, and it may be impossible
to completely eliminate the need for restorative dentistry. However,
by implementing sound preventive care techniques, it is certainly
possible for all of us to minimize the amount of dental disease that
we will experience over a lifetime.
Preventive dental care starts with regularly scheduled hygiene
visits with our office. If you have the gum disease periodontitis,
this should be every 3 to 4 months for periodontal maintenance
therapy. If you are fortunate enough not to have periodontitis, then
you should visit us every 6 months for a routine prophylaxis.
During your hygiene visits, our hygienist will use special
instruments to clean in places where your toothbrush and dental
floss cannot. In addition to your professional cleaning by the
hygienist, I will perform a complete annual dental examination,
including x-rays. The exam and x-rays allow me to diagnose disease,
even in places where the human eye cannot see. By undergoing an exam
and x-rays, you are allowing me to diagnose tooth and gum disease
early, thereby minimizing the amount of necessary treatment while
simultaneously maximizing the probability of a successful outcome.

The final step of the hygiene visit is for the hygienist and myself
to teach and reinforce good homecare procedures, including proper
brushing and flossing techniques. Remember, the hygienist can only
get your teeth clean on the day of your appointment. Our goal is to
get you excited about maintaining great oral hygiene between dental
visits. Preventive care, consisting of regularly scheduled dental
visits and consistent homecare, will maximize your oral health,
which in turn will greatly improve your overall health.
Restorative Dental
Treatment
When dental disease is diagnosed and restorative dental treatment
becomes necessary, our office works extremely hard to provide the
highest quality oral health care possible. Prior to any procedure, a
local anesthetic is used to ensure that you do not experience any
discomfort. With today's anesthetic agents, there is absolutely no
need to feel pain while undergoing dental treatment.
Our crown and bridge restorations are fabricated from high noble
gold alloys and the finest porcelains, rather than lower quality
semi-precious metals and inexpensive porcelains. We ensure that all
restorations fit perfectly. In
regard to gum disease, I strongly advise my patients to treat their
periodontitis with proper scaling and root planing followed by
periodontal maintenance therapy, rather than less expensive
prophylaxes, which are ineffective in the treatment of
periodontitis. When referring to specialists, I take great care to
ensure that the specialists to whom I refer share the same
philosophies and practice to the same standards as do I. In
addition, my staff and I strictly adhere to stringent infection
control standards, to ensure an extremely safe environment for our
patients. Finally, as a resident of Green Valley, I provide my
family of patients with around-the-clock emergency service.
It is my sincere
desire to help my patients to develop and maintain a healthy mouth, restoring teeth when necessary,
thereby allowing them to retain their natural teeth for as long as
possible. This in turn leads to better overall health and improved
quality of life.
Our office is open Monday through Thursday. Office hours are by
